022 REPORT 2ANNUAL2022 ANNUAL REPORT BOCATC.ORG 2 “The BOC is working to create pathways and open doors for ATs to build and grow in a lifelong career of opportunity and advancement.” Looking back on 2022, I take great pride in the achievements of the Board of Certification (BOC). With the support of the BOC Board of Directors and volunteers by our side, our team continued to work on key initiatives. We made great strides continuing to move forward - elevating the profession and preparing us all for a bright future. We strive to consistently build services that assist candidates during the exam process as well as support Athletic Trainers (ATs) during their professional growth and development. Making data-driven decisions allows us to meet the needs of ATs in all practice settings and career directions. Access to enhanced continuing education resources and specialized options that enable ATs to build a professional development plan tailored to their individualized goals is imperative. The BOC is working to create pathways and open doors for ATs to build and grow in a lifelong career of opportunity and advancement. Programs such as the Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics (BCS-O) credential, the International Arrangement (IA) for the athletic training and therapy profession, as well as development of the Continuing Professional Certification (CPC) program are specific examples of this long-term goal. A BOC priority is to continually demonstrate the value of the BCS-O and ATC ® credentials to employers, elevating the role and level of recognition of ATs within health care. As we wrapped up 2022, the BOC released its newly created Mission, Vision and Values Statement focused on our daily commitment to ATs, our stakeholders and the public we serve. These new words provide a clear vision and path to what’s ahead and how we continue to operate. At the forefront is our dedication to an exam and credentialing process that is consistently of the highest standard. As we facilitate the ongoing certification process, our promise is to go above and beyond in service delivery. Transparency, honesty and accountability guide us. Ultimately, everything we do is to guarantee optimum patient care and ensure public trust. The BOC is blessed by the commitment and daily dedication of our team– volunteers, staff and allied partners - allowing us to work towards our vision and goals. We walk into 2023 with a strong foundation and clear direction to continue to achieve and grow. Best in health!
