0 2 2 4 ANNUAL REPORT2024 ANNUAL REPORT BOCATC.ORG 2 “2024 has been a year of growth, innovation and advocacy, all driven by a collective commitment to excellence in credentialing and advancing the athletic training profession.” This past year has been a transformative year for our organization and the athletic training profession! BOC made considerable strides in research and development toward revolutionizing the continuing education and certification maintenance experience for Athletic Trainers (ATs). New initiatives will simplify and enhance certification and recertification procedures, ensuring that ATs meet their professional standards through an optimized user experience. A standout achievement was the year-long pilot of Pathfinder, a cutting-edge platform that guided more than 3,000 AT volunteers in crafting personalized learning paths and advancing their professional development. In addition, the BOC launched a new mobile-friendly website to streamline candidate and AT processes and deliver valuable organizational insights to stakeholders. Together, these advancements underscore our commitment to supporting candidates and ATs every step of the way. The BOC developed an AT Toolkit to empower ATs to effectively communicate their value to employers, patients and the public. This comprehensive set of resources aims to elevate awareness of the vital role ATs play in health care, emphasizing their expertise in prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. By promoting the credential and showcasing the unique contributions of ATs, this initiative highlights the increasing demand for ATs in diverse settings—sports, schools, military and more—and brings attention to the expanding opportunities and career pathways within the profession. The athletic training profession achieved significant advocacy milestones in 2024. A highlight was the launch of the development of an AT Interstate Compact with the Council of State Governments (CSG) and the Department of Defense (DoD). This compact will enable ATs holding a compact privilege to practice physically and/ or remotely across states participating in the compact, enhancing licensure mobility and improving continuity of care. The successful CARE Conference brought together regulatory representatives from 40 states, plus the District of Columbia and Canada, to advance support for public protection and the profession. The BOC continued to be involved with allied organizations on strategic legislative initiatives at both state and national levels. Looking ahead, our priorities are clear. We will continue to innovate, harnessing data-driven insights and technological advancements to enhance our services. Thank you for your continued trust and partnership as we move forward together. Best in health!
