(BOC) works with advertisers, providing products and services that benefit our readers, and we will refuse any advertisement that we believe is incompatible with our mission. The presence of an ad on our website or in our publications or programs does not imply endorsement of the advertised company or product. Advertisers and sponsors must not make unsubstantiated claims or suggest that the BOC has endorsed a product. We reserve the right to refuse any advertising.* The BOC maintains a distinct separation between advertising content and editorial content. All advertisements on the BOC’s website or in our “Cert Update” publication or programs are clearly labeled as such. Sponsored areas of the site are also labeled in this way with sponsor organizations clearly identified. These guidelines are intended to provide general guidance. They are not inclusive or exhaustive and are subject to change at the discretion of the BOC at any time. The BOC reserves the right to reject ads deemed improper for our audience. ADVERTISING WITH THE BOC BOCATC.ORG 13 Advertising Sales Policies CANCELLATION POLICY To cancel an advertising order, you must submit your cancellation request in writing to MindyL@bocatc.org a minimum of 30 days prior to the reservation deadline unless specified. Advertisers will be held accountable for all advertising fees if contracts are canceled less than 30 days before the issue’s reservation deadline or specified cancellation date. If you have secured an issue within 30 days of the reservation deadline, or after the specified cancellation date, your order cannot be canceled. The individual who signs the contract signs as a representative of the advertiser’s company; and the burden of payment lies with the company, not the individual. The advertising company named on the contract is aware that if, for any reason, the individual whose signature is on the contract is no longer with the company, the company is still responsible for all fees associated with the agreement. BOC’S RIGHT The BOC reserves the right to reject any advertisement. The BOC also may place the word “advertisement” with copy that, in the BOC’s opinion, resembles editorial matter. The BOC retains the right to decline or refuse any advertisement for any reason at any time without liability even though previously acknowledged and accepted and/ or if, for any reason, it becomes necessary to omit the advertisement. Acceptance of an advertisement does not mean endorsement by the BOC of the products and/ or services advertised the advertising parties, or the claims made in said advertisements. The BOC will not knowledgeably accept advertising that does not meet government regulations. Advertising and sponsorship criteria that must be met to allow the company to advertise or sponsor include: •No implication of endorsement by the BOC of product or advertiser may be made. •The BOC retains final approval of all sponsor and product messages, banners and advertising copy that are directly linked or adjacent to the content. This includes verification of advertisement content and placement before it is produced on the site. •The advertisement, advertising icons and company logos must be displayed in such a way that they clearly are not part of the BOC, website, publications or programs content. •The BOC reserves the right to reject, cancel or remove at any time any advertisement from the BOC website, publication or programs for any reason. In such a case, the BOC will provide prompt notice to the advertiser, together with an explanation. BOC also reserves the right to determine the appropriate placement of the advertisement on the website. •Collecting and selling of mailing lists without the users’ express permission is not allowed.
